We did the new trail-- #7. A couple of tense spots but otherwise a nice trail.
There are new trails, besides #7. Recall how #2 went up along side the maintenance building, then at end of the maintenance building it headed out to the intersection of #2, #3, #4, #5. There is now a trail behind the building back to the parking lot. This gives a shortcut coming/going on #2.
They have made a number of the trails wider with the cross country tracks on the outside leaving a large area in the middle for ski skating.
Trail #3 is such a trail - Jim and Margaret Thorp were coming back to the lodge. Jim stopped (in the machine made tracks on the right) and wanted to look back to see how Margaret was doing. He pushed his pole into the snow on the side of the trail. The snow gave way and down he went into a ditch along the trail. He had quite a time getting back out but was not hurt.
Some of the other trails were not cleared so they may be letting them grow over or are using them in the summer or plan to have them for snowshoeing or ???
Bob reserved 2 large and 1 little cabins for next year.
Cabin 4 played trivia pursuit and cabin 3 played back alley bridge. Guess which cabin Bruce Buchanan was in.
