The meeting was called to order by Shirley Metcalf.
Treasurer Report:
New Balance is $105.81. A full report of the treasurer was available. The club paid Dick and JoAnne Parch for the meat they BQ at our August summer meeting. Future expected expenses are Turkey for Thanksgiving, Ham for Christmas, main course for Derby Day. Lamb or meat for summer picnic. Tonight we will be collecting dues, $15 a couple, $7.50 per single. We hope to have enough left over for a donation to a cause. The club will decide on where the donation will go.
Old business: Everyone in the club needs to start thinking about who will take over our Presidency. We have truly enjoyed serving you but are ready to turn over the reins to a new President.
Last year Bob Meyer did another great job planning the LaPetite Rouge cross country trip which was held on February 3rd to 5th, 2006. Bob gave a report on this year’s trip. He said he had to go outside the club in order to get enough people. The trip will be February 2 – 4, 2007. Anyone interested should contact Bob.
The Metcalfs planned two ski trips last year: Smuggler’s Notch (Burlington Vermont) on January 13, 14 and 15 and The Whiteface Mountain Ski Trip was on March 17th, 18th and 19th. The Metcalfs do plan on organizing these two trips again this year. Keep in mind they are not just for skiing but also socializing and we will try to get the same good rates.
New business:
Trish & Bill Lewis will host the Thanksgiving meeting. The meeting will be November 18th at 5:00 pm. The main dish will be turkey. Dorothy will do the calling for this meeting.
The Metcalfs will host the Christmas meeting on Sunday, December 17th at 4:30 p.m. There will be the traditional Spiral Ham and everyone should bring a wrapped Christmas ornament. Shirley will do calling for this meeting.
Russ and Heather Nelson will host the January Cross country, soup and sandwich meeting, date to be announced. Heather will do the calling for this meeting.
Joe and Jutta Fitzsimons will host a meeting in March or April, to be announced.
Susan and Bob Meyer will host Derby Day on May 5th.
Everyone signed a card for Dave Bray and send him wishes for good health. We sure missed seeing Dave and Tellie!
Under new business Sue Gibbs brought up the subject of giving any left over money from our treasury to a good cause. We all agree this is a good idea.
A big round of applause was given to Bill and Dorothy for hosting.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made and seconded.
