Present: Beans, Brays, Frazers, Kears, Lenneys, Lewises, Lowells, Meins, Metcalfs, Meyers, Partches, and Louise Straub.
The Brays were 'dubbed' the most devoted Ski Club members at the meeting, because they had only been home from Poland for 2 hours and they came. (Good thing, Dave had to help Dorothy drink all that wine!!)
Shirley Bean suggested, because all the food was fabulous, that Ski Club should put together a cookbook.
Because it is the Club's 25th year, starting in October, Lorraine gave a brief history about the start of the club. She passed out a board with the presidents names on it for the first 10 years. Dorothy was unofficially elected as the historian, because Lorraine left a big box of 'history' behind in the Mein's laundry room. She said because she is cleaning things out of the house, but we know it was because the 25th anniversary is coming up and she didn't want to take the time to do a 'history search.' She still remembers the report she gave at the 10th.
Bob Meyer gave the particulars on the LaPetite Ski Trip, which is February 6-8. Accommodations have been reserved for 3 cabins --2 cabins can accommodate 8 people each and the smaller cabin can hold 4. Some rooms have extra beds if anyone wanted to bring their children. Price: $l43.79 Canadian each. (Lodging Friday and Saturday nights, with dinner Friday night, 3 meals on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.)
No takers to organize the Lake Placid Ski Trip. Bill Lewis said he would check with Bill Hayman on this.
No volunteers to organize the Mt. Tremblaunt trip. Need to check with Gabor or Bill Petersen to see if either of them are interested in organizing it this year.
Meyers will host the November meeting. Need to confirm at the next meeting if the 29th is ok with everyone, and the time.
Special rate on dues this year: $5.00 each or 2/$10.00. Dorothy collected dues from most everyone that was present. The Beanes will send fruit from Florida again for Christmas door prize.
The group was in a festive mood. President Bill was reminded that the meeting seemed to be out of his control now - not that the group ever gave him control!
A very relaxing and enjoyable evening. Must be all that good food. The photo album will show that everyone's plate was 'licked' clean!!!
Once again, the president had no choice, but to
Adjourn -- Dorothy Mein.
